Best Laptops of April 2022
We all know the struggle of finding the perfect laptop. The best laptops for April 2022 are here to help take your search out of your hands and make it much easier for you!
We have done the research so you don’t have to! Check out this blog post now to find out which laptops are worth spending money on. Happy shopping!
1. HP Envy 13
The HP Envy 13 was the best computer for under $1,000. Unfortunately, it had a long time before other computers beat it. I wanted to test the new design to see if it could stay on top of all the others coming out.
This laptop’s 11th generation Intel CPU makes it more energy-efficient and longer-lasting than you would expect from a computer that costs less than $1,000.
The emphasis stays on the streamlined aluminum style. This type of design finds a balance between type and function. This is achieved by providing USB Type-A and Type-C ports, together with a comfortable keyboard and an excellent 1080p display screen.
HP put a lot of time into making this mid-range laptop computer seem like a flagship gadget. It is puzzling to use a plastic touchpad, but the Envy 13 does many things right and has a reasonable price. The Envy 13 is worth considering when looking for one of the best laptops or the best laptops.

2. HP Spectre x360 – Best Laptop with Performance
The HP Spectre x360 is a laptop that you can carry anywhere. It is also very powerful. In the old model, it was great because it had power and portability. Now, the new model has been improved even more with Intel Evo certification.
The new Spectre has to meet certain requirements for that certification which makes it better. It lasts 13 hours on the PCMark 10 battery life test, which is better than Chromebooks and MacBooks. It also boots up fast and can do some casual gaming.
The HP Spectre x360 has a 360-degree hinge. It is easy to use as a tablet, but it is bulky and hard to use as a tablet. You might want to look for something else if you’re looking for something that can be used easily as both a laptop and a tablet.
The HP Spectre x360 (2021) has a problem. Sometimes the fans are loud when the laptop is open, and even when it is closed. It doesn’t feel premium because of this problem.
This laptop is really good and has lots of use. There are some problems though. The price is too high. If you have the money, it’s worth it to buy this laptop that will not disappoint you.

4. Google Pixelbook Go – Best Chromebook
Google has been making Chromebooks for a while. Recently, they released the Pixelbook. It cost too much money at $1,000 or more. Many Chromebooks cost less than $500 and are still good.
But Google is back this year with the new Pixelbook Go and it doesn’t cost as much money – but still a lot! They want to prove a point about quality not being everything when it comes to computers.
Instead of building a new Chromebook for people with money, Google is trying to make a Chromebook that anyone can afford. The Pixelbook Go starts at $650 and it’s cheaper than the original Pixelbook. It’s still expensive, but there are other premium Chromebooks in this price range now.
But unfortunately, Google made a lot of changes to the original Pixelbook. They made it cheaper. But they changed other things too. The question is whether these changes are worth it.
Pros
- Excellent keyboard
- Good performance and battery life
- The Chrome OS platform is solid and stable
- Thin and light design with the strong build quality
Cons
- The display isn’t as good as the original Pixelbook
- The trackpad isn’t the smoothest
- Slightly expensive for a Chromebook
- It’s a bit boring to look at

5. Alienware m17 R4 – Best Gaming Laptop
Alienware has made several computers that we have rated. There are some 15-inch and 17-inch screens. The new Alienware m17 R4 starts at $1,812.99 and costs $3,609.99 as tested.
It has an Nvidia GeForce RTX 30 Series GPU and an optional low-profile mechanical keyboard from Cherry, which is suitable for typing on it with your fingers or gaming on it with your fingers too!
Both are successful. They make the gameplay better and the typing easier. Sometimes, it’s hard to find a battery that works for long enough. Of course, you also need to spend more money on extras like a 360Hz screen, but these computers are perfect!
PROS
- Stellar performance with Core i9 and GeForce RTX 3080 in our test configuration
- Unique, satisfying Cherry MX mechanical keyboard
- Scads of configuration options, including 360Hz display
- Plenty of ports
CONS
- Pricey as configured, in line with the field-leading speed

6. Dell G5 15 – Best Entry-Level Gaming
The market for budget laptops for gaming is very competitive these days. The latest parts from AMD, Intel, and Nvidia allow for better performance and lower prices.
For example, Dell offers a laptop with AMD components that starts at $879.99 (or more). It is suitable for multimedia and not bad for games, but the price is reasonable.
It is a challenging field, but the NVIDIA G5 15 SE might not do enough to separate itself from the other laptops. The design is a bit basic and heavy. Gaming frame rates are not as reasonable as those from similar priced NVIDIA laptops.
And the storage capacity is restricted. It’s still a pretty good gaming laptop on the whole, but we prefer the Acer Predator Helios 300 at that same price and MSI GL65 9SC as a less expensive option.
PROS
- Sturdy build
- AMD CPU delivers superior multimedia performance
- Capable of 60fps in AAA games
- 144Hz display
- Good port selection
- Relatively long battery life
CONS
- Underwhelming design
- A bit heavy
- Slightly cramped storage capacity for modern games

7. MacBook Pro 13-inch – Best Macbook
The 13-inch MacBook Pro is an important tool for people who need to edit videos. It is also appealing to people who want a better computer than the MacBook Air, but that does not cost as much as the high-end Macbook Pro.
The newest 13-inch MacBook Pro is as sleek as ever and more powerful than before, thanks to Apple’s new M1 processor. They also have the same updates that the MacBook Air has, so we recommend it over the smaller MacBook Pro as the best Apple laptop for most people.

- Comfortable keyboard and trackpad
- Improved webcam

8. SAMSUNG Galaxy Book Pro – Best 2-in-1 Laptop
Samsung has a new thin laptop and light. It has two sizes, one that is 13 inches and one that is 15 inches. The cheaper version starts at $1,299 with the more expensive starting at $1,499.
Samsung makes computers. They are light. They have a screen that you can touch to move things. You can also change the weight of your laptop if you want to carry it with you like a tablet instead of using the keyboard and mouse (for students, for children).
The new Galaxy laptop is the best yet. But other laptops are better, like the HP Spectre x360 15 which is bigger but has more power. Still, this Galaxy laptop is worth it if you want a convertible with a big screen.
PROS
- Remarkably thin and light
- Vivid Super AMOLED screen
- Dedicated number pad
- Distinctive Mystic Navy color option
- Unique software privacy and security features
CONS
- No 4K screen option

9. Microsoft Surface Pro 7 – Best Programming Laptop
The Microsoft Surface Pro 7 is $749. It also costs $1,358.99 as tested. The new design was not significantly different from the old models of Windows tablets. However, it did make them better, and I added a USB Type-C port.
Almost a year and a half later, in 2021, the Surface Pro is still the best 2-in-1 detachable. A few other companies have come to try to take it away from us, but they haven’t been able to do so. Some 2-in-1 detachable laptops bend and don’t detach; these are also good choices.
But we like the Surface Pro design better than all of them because it can be used as both a laptop and a tablet. The newest model with updated components is called the Surface Pro 7+.
The design is a little old. It needs a new look. However, this laptop is potent, and it can do more than most other laptops in its category. If you want to use your laptop for work and not spend as much money, this is the best choice.
PROS
- Snappy Intel “Ice Lake” processor
- Robust battery life
- Sharp display
- Well-implemented kickstand
- Includes USB-C

10. Acer ConceptD 7 – Best Graphic Designing Laptop
The Acer ConceptD 7 starts at $2,299.99 and can cost up to $2,999.99. It is an elite laptop that is in between a normal notebook and a mobile workstation.
The computer may not be able to do the things that the other one can. But it still does some of the same things. For example, it can help with editing and design work and also with online content creation.
This computer has a lot of power and is very pretty. In addition, it has a 4K display, which is nice. The Apple MacBook Pro 15-Inch and the Dell XPS 15 have 8-core processors, but they are not as fast as this one.

The X1 Carbon Gen 9 starts at $1,475. It is $2,197 as tested. This model catches up to the Dell and other elite ultraportables by using an 11th Generation Intel “Tiger Lake” Core processor and a slightly taller 16:10 rather than 16:9 screen aspect ratio.

12. Asus ZenBook Pro Duo UX581 – Best Business Laptop
The ZenBook Pro Duo is a laptop with screens on the inside. This laptop has screens on all of the inside parts. The machine has a 15.6-inch screen with pictures on it.
It is above the keyboard where laptops are. The screen below it is 14 inches wide, and they are both touch screens. This computer can do lots of hard work because of its CPU and GPU.
The ZenBook Pro Duo starts at $2,499, which is not cheap. But the model we are looking at here rings up at $2,999. It might not be perfect for power users who live life on the edge. It still might be worth every penny though depending on how you work.
